Testimonials
“We vacationed in the UK last summer searching for good clay target presentations and great instructors. Interestingly, the best instructor we found in the land of Shakespeare (and Digweed) was all-American Will Fennell.
A mutual friend in the UK introduced us to Will, and we immediately found him to be both approachable and shotgun literate. We also knew and saw that he was a great shooter. What we learned over the next few hours in England was that Will was also a very good instructor. Unlike many instructors, Will tells you why things happened rather than simply what happened. For example, “You’re behind” is not nearly as helpful as “Your hold point was good; but on this tight window shot, I want you to insert a little more lead before pulling away.” Will teaches a shooting method that is easy to learn, broadly applicable, and “layoff rust-resistant.”
We picked up the basics after a few hours. Over the next few days, we were shooting quite a few of our shots subconsciously with the new method. The old habits still pop out now and again, but the success achieved shooting Will’s way is a wonderful reinforcement. The method is applicable to nearly every target we have encountered in our sporting and FITASC shooting. We’ve not gone hunting with the new method, but it sure feels like the birds will be in trouble. As to “layoff rust-resistance”, we’ve noticed that our form comes back more quickly after a layoff than with the “move, mount, shoot” method. Since coming home to the US, we’ve visited Will a few times at his teaching facility in South Carolina and would recommend the experience heartily (except for those hoping to lose weight). We look forward to a long and rewarding relationship with Will as a friend and exceptional shooting instructor.

“A lesson with Will is always fun and a learning experience. Will teaches a method that is easy to learn and a proven method used by many of the top sporting clay professionals. Anyone starting out in sporting clays would benefit from Will’s expertise in the areas of gun fit, and the proper gun for any shooter.”

“I had shot sporting for 15 years prior to signing up for lessons with Will. These were the first lessons I had. While I had shot competitively in trap in my younger years, I still had no formal training. Like most, I listened to many a local expert with little clear success.
When I started with Will, I realized quickly Will possessed something others over the years had not. Will had a plan and a system that I could use and simplify my shooting. Will started by assessing my strengths and weaknesses and then formulated a plan for me. I have since found not just better shooting, but a better understanding of shooting. Lastly, Will has always taken time on the phone and at shoots to say hi and lend encouragement! Thanks Coach.”

I have worked with Will in many different locations in many different settings and with many different abilities of shooters in each group and EVERY time Will has delivered outstanding instruction to each shooters ability and created a tremendously entertaining experience. The competitive shooter will be rewarded with tremendous instruction focused on correcting and perfecting your mental game along with pre-shot routine, gun movement and focused target selection. The occasional shooter or wing shooter will leave a session with Will more confident in target focus and will consistently hit the targets or birds that they shoot at in their next outing.
I look forward to every outing with Will and my scores consistently increase after each session. As a competitive shooter I would recommend Will to help diagnose and solve any of your shooting slumps or just to make your shooting more consistent from shoot to shoot. If you are looking for an outstanding corporate outing Will will make your outing an safe, fun and enjoyable way to entertain your employees and customers.

During the last 6 years of steady coaching Will has taken me from NSCA A class to Master class and in 2007 at the FITASC World Championship in the Czech Republic I won the Bronze medal on the Team USA Veteran team and in September 2008 at the FITASC World Championship in Cyprus I won the individual Silver medal in Super Veteran. These accomplishments speak far more to Will’s ability as a coach than to the ability of the student he had to work with.
In addition to Will’s love of the shotgun sports, he has great knowledge of hunting as well as all types of firearms and outdoor gear. He is a trained stock fitter. If I want advice on guns or gear, I call Will. Relying upon his rifle and hunting expertise he helped me set up my 3 trips to Africa and has been my shooting companion from the deer woods of South Carolina to the dove fields of Argentina.
Will Fennell has an extensive resume in the shooting field which includes not only his lengthy teaching and coaching experience and his educational background but also his accomplishments in shooting competitions on the world stage. What his resume doesn’t show is his natural way with people of all walks of life. He is really a “people person”, as much at home with an old friend by the fire or leading a kids’ shooting program as with a Fortune 500 CEO on a driven pheasant shoot in England.

Will Fennell has been my coach for several years and I’ve had the privilege to work with him on dozens of occasions in the last 10 years. We’ve worked together on an individual coaching basis as well as collaborated on numerous shooting clinics for business clients.
My experience with Will has been outstanding. Will is one of the very few champions who also know how to teach the shooting sports. He is a consummate professional with very comfortable coaching style and an incredible dedication to helping his students improve and have fun. I’ve worked with many shooting coaches over the years, and Will Fennell is among the very best.
In the last three years I’ve shot 34,000 NSCA registered targets and gone from Class E to Master Class in 17 months. Will Fennell helped me become a better shooter and I highly recommend him to anyone at any skill level that wants to improve their game.

When I began shooting sporting clays over five years ago I never imagined that I would have a need for professional instruction. I grew up hunting in South Georgia and was an above average shooter who used a “measured lead” approach to every target. When longer, more difficult targets were presented I simply could not consistently break them using this method. When I began to ask around about professional instruction, all signs pointed to Will Fennell. I purchased one of Will’s videos and booked my first lesson. With Will’s tireless support and encouragement I was able to move from a middle of the road shooter to the Georgia All State team and 8th in class at the NSCA nationals. My success can be directly attributed to the time I spent with Will. If you are tired of leaving too many unbroken targets on the ground at your shooting club, then it’s time to give Will a call.

DVD Instruction
I am pleased to announce the release of my first instructional DVD- “FITASC Sportingclays Ultimate Challenge with Will Fennell”. I have done this in conjunction with Champion Video Productions, a partnership of Dan Carlisle and Ed Arrighi. They formed this production group after being disappointed with the quality and content of other instructional videos on the market. They have previously released 2 videos featuring Dan- The Secrets of the Triangle and Perfect Trap, both of which I heartily recommend. My video takes the same technique that Dan and I teach, and applies it to FITASC along with insight into the game.
The video production quality has amazed me…..on a good TV, you can see the shot impacting the target @ 60 yards. The Gun-Cam provides great insight to the relationship of the barrel to the bird! In addition, there is a great Video available for English SxS enthusiast with Cyril Adams, and another instructional release with Anthony Matarese giving us another perspective on our same basic technique.
